OK, then it's a business movie, as well. It's not a movie about a shift in society. That may be the backdrop, but the movie's not about that. Not at all. It's a character study. It's a legal drama. It's a business shenanigans movie. It's not a social networking movie. It's not a cultural touchstone.

Buck's post is dead-on. Critics, a lot of them ageing and desperately seeing this as an opportunity to ride the film's coattails to some street cred, rushed to proclaim it a movie about Facebook and its impact on society. But it just wasn't. Some of the reviews, if I recall, were embarrassingly off-point because the critics tried to project something on the movie that just wasn't there.

See, I don't see this as a business movie.

Pretty good review here, and for me the moments I remember are the moments the pushed Facebook to being Facebook.

Sure. Schools could watch all of those as historical retelling of events.

The Social Network was the most overrated movie since The Departed; it WAS a courtroom drama, only due to the settlement, we never learned who won. Bullshit.

In the spirit of the season, I watched "Halloween" on Sunday evening.

Still holds up pretty well over time. Some of the dialogue is stilted, especially from Jamie Lee Curtis when she talks to herself, and there are like two or three cuts that don't really make sense. One is of Jamie Lee Curtis on the phone and it cuts to the person on the other line, who makes a joke, then back to Curtis, who laughs awkwardly for like two seconds.

But the score is obviously unnerving, I'd say moreso than Michael Myers' breathing. The buildup to his big night was good, too.

The last minutes of the movie tell you how the case was decided.

Edwardo's payout was the only amount not released.

I liked The Social Network, but wasn't it pretty much just Pirates of Silicon Valley with a bigger budget and a lack of Anthony Michael Hall mugging for the camera?

Saw The Campaign... Pretty funny... Nothing too special though...

I really liked The Social Network. Thought it was well-acted by Eisenberg, often funny (the Winklevii-Larry Summers scene was hilarious), had a cool look and a strong score.

I didn't dislike 'The Social Network.' I liked it, although I didn't expect to like it. I generally dislike Sorkin's writing.
    It was good.
I'm simply saying it doesn't have leg. It's certainly won't have the long-standing significance mentioned by one of the other posters. That was the post to which I was responding.
