Amazing Spider-Man. Pretty good entertainment. Andrew Garfield (whom I had only seen in other film--The Social Network) was much more compelling than Tobey Maguire. Emma Stone is also much, much better than Dunst.

Well, I was completely underwhelmed by "Skyfall." The first third was a bit boring...the second third was pretty damn good...but the "Skyfall" portion seemed like it belonged in a completely different movie (not to mention, it made no tactical sense whatsoever). I did appreciate the Goldfinger touch, though.

The future (hopefully, will find out her answer next month) Mrs. CK2 and I have three things in our hanging-out rotation:

    1) Walking
    2) Lunch or dinner
    3) Movies

We’ve been hitting up No. 3 pretty hard lately.

ARGO: Loved it. Wasn’t too familiar with many of the cast members’ previous work. The street assassination was surprising, but the end wasn’t. Of course, if Affleck was staying true to the “true story” they had to make it out alive.

HERE COMES THE BOOM: Thought it was “Nacho Libre” for MMA, but still laughed. And for some reason, I have the version of “Holly Holy” by the Glee girl (Charice/Sunshine Corazon) stuck in my head. Never thought that song could be a pump-you-up stadium anthem/entrance song, but it worked.

WRECK-IT RALPH: I’ve actually seen it twice, and may go a third time with my 7-year-old nephew. My younger brother said Wreck-It is like Toy Story for video games and I’d agree. Not my favorite Disney cartoon as I’d go with Cars or Toy Story, but I would easily put Ralph above other cartoons I’ve seen in theaters this year (Madagascar 3, The Pirates! Band of Misfits). Also found it interesting that three of Ralph’s stars were in Talladega Nights (John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch, Jack McBrayer).

I probably need to find something else to do and unless I'm counting wrong, I've made 17 (saw one movie twice) total trips to see 16 movies at four theaters this year (American Reunion, Argo, Chimpanzee, Dark Knight Rises, Finding Nemo 3D, Here Comes the Boom, Madagascar 3, Men In Black 3, Ted, That’s My Boy, The Avengers, The Campaign, The Expendables 2, The Five-Year Engagement, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, Wreck-It Ralph).

My sister and nieces let me tag along with them to see "Wreck-It Ralph" today, and I loved it. Very enjoyable, especially if you grew up with those old-fashioned video games, and a good story. Glad I had a 9- and 6-year-old sitting in the theater with me as a cover. :)

Saw "Argo" yesterday. Loved it. Affleck's quickly turning into a director who can do no wrong, which I something I never thought I'd say.

Goodman and Arkin were great, as was Bryan Cranston.

And did anyone else recognize Rory Cochrane (Slater from "Dazed and Confused") as the bushy mustachioed hostage with the sunglasses?

Our 11-year-old son has been wanting to go to "Wreck it Ralph" since he first saw the trailer months ago. I took a his friend and him yesterday. It was much better than I had feared. It had an actual plot and real character development, near the same league as "Up!", "Cars" and "Toy Story."

Ebert's predisposed to love a movie like Cloud Atlas. As for The Master, he didn't see the point. I actually appreciate his review because I think he comes by it honestly, whereas some reviewers who loved the movie have offered half-assed reasons for why they do.

I haven't seen either, yet, but his reviews surprised me.

I hadn't seen Ebert's review but he nails it, IMO. I thought the performances were amazing and it held my interest but I couldn't discern the point the writer and director were trying to make.

Skyfall this weekend in "XD" with the two boys. First 2/3rds were exciting. The last 1/3 was old school but quaint in this day and age. Bardem is a great villain.

Craig is an excellent Bond but I think they do need to go back to the Connery Bond, smooth, cool under pressure, and someone who can face down the villain without getting the tux dirty.

Yeah, I saw The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (tm)

Yeah, the ending is a shocker.

And no, it's not because Kristin Stewart smiles.
