Saw "The Amazing Spider-Man," which I missed in the theaters, the other night on cable.

It was OK, there wasn't anything I really HATED about it (much to the contrast of SM3). Garfield was fine as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone was OK as Mary J .... oops, Gwen.

But a lot of it was sheer regurgitation of the Raimi/Maguire series.

I actually prefer the <3 over the sites (like FB) that actually turn it into a heart. Makes me feel like I'm fighting the power.

Just watched "Love Actually" for the umpteenth time and cried like an idiot AGAIN. This one gets me right in the heart every fracking time.

Life of Pi is everything that movies are meant to be: a story that is first and foremost visually stunning (which of course is what sets movies apart from all other narratives), is unlike anything you've ever seen before, entertains you the entire time, and then hits you with one wallop after the other in the final 30 minutes.

I suspect it will win the Oscar for Best Picture, and I'm sorry, Ben, but the best director Oscar I gave you a few weeks back? Would you mind sending it over to Ang Lee -- KThnx.

Ditto except for the "just watched" part. I might pop it in when I get home Sunday though.

That would have been a great title for a romantic comedy about mathemeticians.

Has anyone given the movie 3.14159 stars?

No, I was a bit of a math nerd as a kid.

Someday, we need to have a contest on who can name the most digits of pi. Or at least a showdown between YGBFKM and RickStain.

The tiebreaker will be who can name the most Bears quarterbacks since McMahon.
