Actually, Lincoln is out. Although I'm sure it's all kinds of educational and all that good stuff, isn't it like 2.5 hours long? I'd fall asleep for sure.

Probably going to see Silver Linings. Will save The Collection for the weekend when the wife can join me.

That's a 2012 movie, judging by its ongoing Oscar push.

Saw Lincoln last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Made me want to dig up some recordings of Lincoln's voice -- such a thing exists, does it not? -- and see if he sounded like Daniel Day Lewis.

According to Wiki, sound recordings were made as early as 1857, but a practical recording device didn't exist until Edison invented it the late 1870s.

Lincoln died in 1865, so it's unlikely his voice was ever recorded. But based on contemporary news accounts, his voice was somewhat high.

Finally got around to Moonrise Kingdom on BluRay. What a fucking beautiful film. Loaded with great imagery, great acting, tremendous music. Perfect length. Awesome.

    No, you won't.

The thing that surprised me the most about it was its humor and pace.

Ruby Sparks. Lonely writer (Paul Dano) writes a beautiful young woman and then she appears in real life (she is played by Zoe Kazan, the film's writer). Solid cast which includes the great Steve Coogan as Dano's writer-mentor and Aasif Mandvi as an agent. From the makers of Little Miss Sunshine.

Overall, an entertaining film with an indie feel.
