I wouldn't call it great, but I don't like romcoms and I thoroughly enjoy Love Actually whenever it comes on this time of year.

As I've said before ... have been forced to watch this with my wife. A few funny plot lines ("HELLO, Wisconsin!"), but the best part for me is when they uncork "God Only Knows" at the end. Great song, and appropriate for the end of the movie.

    Plus, Keira Knightley. :)

    The Dark Knight Rises.

I was impressed. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Campaign was really hilarious despite the fact the director and the two leads have a really inconsistent track record.

Love Argo and Lincoln. Both movies that manage a lot of suspense even though you know the outcome.

Lincoln managed to get a lot of details of Lincoln as president and paint a pretty full portait of him during a short span of his presidency.

    Argo was funny as hell.

    Great scripts on both.

    Watched four movies this weekend:

That's My Boy - Adam Sandler's best work since Waterboy.

The Campaign - Had me chuckling throughout, but nothing really ball-busting funny like Step Brothers or The Hangover.

Lawless - I liked most of it because the story was intriguing. It was based on true events, which gives a little more leeway on the pace. But it wasn't just awesome.

The Raven - Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. I love movies like this one, and it was, well, awesome.

Colleagues who saw The Hobbit last night replied with: Meh.

Too long, and the "revolutionary" film format fell flat and took too long to get used to.

Stunning that blowing a 250-page book out into three 2 1/2 hour movies wouldn't work out so well.

That said, I'll still see it on opening night.

It has fun and light moments, and sometimes that's all a moviegoer/viewer needs. I didn't hate it like I do other romcoms, but there were some eye-rolling and cheesy moments. It was fun for this time of year and when you're sitting down and enjoying a quiet evening with a lady friend.

Eh. Not many people agree with my television or movie tastes. Which is why nearly every show I get excited about on TV lasts one season.
