I'm really disappointed that Life of Pi is fading away with such little recognition.

    It's an enthralling, on-screen masterpiece.

    The Dark Knight Rises

What a kickass movie. I pity the guy who WB hires to follow that when the inevitable reboot comes.

2D. I can think of a couple of sequences that might have been enhanced by 3D, but I generally skip the 3D movies.

To this point, I was the only one in the theatre when I saw it. Which was nice, what with no toddlers and no teens waving their phones around, but it's hard to see it having a long run in theatres.

    "Men in Black 3."

Tons of fun. Very similar to "Back to the Future."

"Take This Waltz" with Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen and some guy I'd never seen before.

I enjoyed it very much. Then again, for some reason, I always love movies about emotionally fucked-up women who never seem to make the right choices in life and throw away good things.

    Weird.

    Killing Them Softly

Aside from a few scenes late in the movie, this was not good. It dragged and there was zero intensity or interest in characters. Brad Pitt's character doesn't even show up until at least 30 minutes into the movie. Somewhere in the boring narrative it tries to get at the 2008 financial crisis (that's the year/setting) as a backdrop for how people make and lose money illegally, but it just fails. Big time. I'm disappointed.

A week after seeing Killing Them Softly and damn that movie bugged me ever since. It's not bad in a Playing for Keeps kind of way...it's bad in an in-your-face way.

The James Gandolfini character is the most annoying character I've seen in years. Sure, his performance is interesting, but when the movie's over you realize he served absofuckinglutely no purpose whatsoever. He's the personification of introducing a gun in act one and then not firing it in act three. Then you have the looming presence of Dylan, played by Sam Shepard, whose performance you see the entirety of in the trailer. And yet his mentioned-in-passing-in-the-last-scene death is the key to the movie as it triggers an anti-Capitalism diatribe that would send Bill O'Reilly crying into the arms of Roger Ailes.

    Just a terrible, terrible movie.

I'm going to pimp my shop here...

If you rent MIB3 or Brave from a PPV or VOD service, and you don't like it, Reelz will give you your money back, no questions asked.

Middle Men. Russian mob. Lots of hot naked women. Multiple murders. Kind of like Dexter, only it's supposedly based on a true story. Had a hard time figuring out where to suspend disbelief, but that didn't keep me from watching till the end.

I am with you 100 percent. I almost walked out of the theater yesterday, but I realized I spent $11.50 for the ticket and damnit I was going to make sure I got my money's worth. At least I could see the piece of shit in its entirety and bitch about it on the Internet, which I've done here.
