Ted and Ruby Sparks, both enjoyable.

I'm pretty sure Bill Goodykoontz has been reviewing movies for the AZ Republic for a long time. And he's pretty good, too.

  3. Saw This is 40. It had some funny moments but it was WAY too long, much like Knocked Up. Not awful but not very good either.

I want to like it. I watched less than half and stopped. I see it on my DVR and can usually think of something more pressing. Don't know if I will ever finish it, and that's saying something. To say I'm a Batman fan would be an understatement.

Anybody seen either The Sessions or Hitchcock?

Rented Premium Rush on demand today. Pretty good action, and I loved the bike angles. Decent story line, although really nothing new.

Netflixed "The Help." Liked it so much better than "The Artist," which I'd seen last week.

Bryce Dallas Howard gives me the creeps, though.

    Double Indemnity.

Barbara Stanwyck is hot, better than a 6. Liked her Big Valley.

    Tower Heist. I was amused.

It was good to see Eddie Murphy as a fast-talking hoodlum again.

And this seems like a good place to note ... all those people who predicted "major stardom" for Gabourey Sidibe after Precious ... yeah ... that's probably not gonna happen.

Yes. The Sessions 10X > Hitchcock. Rent Hitchcock, see The Sessions as soon as you can for the great acting.

"Bad Santa." A Christmas classic. And then I read they are making "Bad Santa 2"!

    "Dark Shadows."

I'm honestly not sure why this was even made, except for Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's personal amusement. There is nothing in here that "True Blood" hasn't already done better and bolder. It would make a worthy inclusion on any list of the year's worst movies. Or, at the least, most inconsequential.
