Caught the last 30-40 minutes of "The Cotton Club." I have always considered it to be woefully underrated.

GF and I rented Pitch Perfect from Red Box the other night. I watch American Idol, so I'm into that sort of thing I guess, but I really enjoyed it.

Saw Argo on demand the other night. It was a highly entertaining movie. I was 14 when this happened and wasn't paying much attention -- I had baseballs to hit and girls to chase -- but I do remember it being a constant presence on the news.

As for the Hollywoodification of the movie, well, never let the facts get in the way of a good story, right? I agree, it's disappointing that a movie purported to reveal a bit of history had do fabricate some aspects to enhance box-office appeal, but it didn't diminish my enjoyment of the movie by much.

I watched a Discovery-channel doc on it last night, and it was fascinating to hear from some of the actual participants.

I liked it too, thought it dragged a little in the middle though.

Does Emma Watson's jaw always look like that? Or was it something she did for effect in the movie? She wasn't very cute.

Watched "The Harder they Fall" with Humphrey Bogart last night on TCM. Not great but not bad. I want to know how TCM and AMC pick their movies. For instance, Anaconda was on AMC...in what world is Anaconda an "American Movie Classic?" Also saw Blow Up on TCM the other night. While I get it was a movie about Swinging London and was a little intriguing, how is thos movie a classic? It's pretty predictable and mundane.

Much like with TLC, IFC, A&E (and KFC) and the like, the acronym is the brand and no longer an acronym. Much of AMC's programming is original series. Certainly it's most watch programming is.

Oh shit. Now you've done it. My bro Z-Man is going to go into full-on angry Bill Banner mode when he reads this. He loves him some Blow Up.

Rented Looper. Interesting concept and would have been very good if I had not guessed everything halfway through. Kind sucks in this type of movie. This is not to say it was a super predictable.

Identity Thief. Not great, obviously, but not nearly as awful as I'd heard. Worth the $6 for the morning show. Not worth double that for the night show.
