On the thread's recommendation, "Reign Over Me." Thanks!

I liked "Looper" well enough, and thought "Brick" was ambitious but ultimately gimmicky. Sometimes I wonder if Rian Johnson gets the benefit of the doubt from critics because he's accessible and a nice guy.

Just caught Million Dollar Baby. Haven't seen it for awhile. Still packs that emotional gut-punch at the end. Mighty dusty.

Haven't seen it since I was a kid, and it was on TV. It wasn't terrible.

Just watched Killer Joe. I can definitely see the comparisons to Blue Velvet in atmosphere, psychotic villain and disturbing scenes. Frank Booth, though, was still more frightening.

I liked it, but, man, those final 20 minutes are rough.

Jack the Giant Slayer, in 3D.

Went in expecting to enjoy it more than the critics did. Came out thrilled. It was a blast! Fun story, great effects, a few laughs. Could it have been much better? Yeah, there good have been a few more plot twists and my man Ewan, who was the main reason I went to see it, was a glorified cameo. But it was a fun couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon.

Took my seven year old daughter to see oz today. Very strong visual, but felt more like tim burton lite than a raimi flick. Mila kunis does some great work late in the movie, but until it seemed like everyone had taken acting lessons from keanu reeves. The most believable character was the flying monkey. Also, nice little evil dead homage at the end.

I'm visiting family and my aunt and uncle got "Magic Mike" from Netflix. So it's me, them and my parents.

    Awkward.

And Matthew McConnaughhay does absolutely nothing for me.

Just saw "Oz" with my girlfriend. I liked it, and she's gaga over it. It's a cute story and doesn't trample on my childhood memories. It set itself up for a better emotional climax than it delivered.

She's growing up without any sense of style apparently.
