I would have liked it better. I'll devour any semi-historical film or book about Appalachia and moonshining. I just hate Shia LaDouche. And Jessica Chastain gets nekkid.

Nothing "perhaps" about it. Remains a masterwork.

Wreck-It Ralph. I watched it on demand last night. Wanted to watch something and didn't want to invest more than 2 hours. Pretty fun movie.

  5. Went to the theatre today to try to catch Oz and it was sold out a good 30 minutes before. Wonder if that means it's cleaning house at the box office? I've been wishy washy on seeing it and now I probably won't unless it's reviews get better.

Saw Oz yesterday, and the theater was packed for a 1:45 p.m. show on a Saturday. So it does seem to be cleaning up.

As for the film, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Franco's so-so in the lead (Robert Downey was originally tied to it, and would have been outstanding), but the three females (Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz) are all very good, and the two "non-human" characters — the winged monkey (voiced by Zach Braff) and the china doll — are wonders of CGI animation.

I just saw 'Oz,' and I was very disappointed.
First, we had to see 3D. There weren't two seats together for ther egular show, so they gave us 3D tickets.
The movie looks great, although the 3D adds nothing and occasionally takes away from it.
Overall, weak, and I thought Mila Kunis was terrible.

Stumbled upon Project X on HBO last night. It became one of my favorite movies of last year. Awesome. Animal House x 10.

Can't act her way out of a Ziploc.

Michelle Williams, who is a good actor, nevertheless gave an odd, snappy "hubba bubba" kind of performance.

    'The Loneliest Planet.'

Worth your time for the cinematography. Deeply ruminative, but won't pay off for everyone.

The consensus on Oz here at work this morning pretty much reflects the thoughts above, particularly regarding Mila.
