You have to enjoy schlocky stuff to like it.

    Wonder Boys
My favorite movie about being a frustrated writer. Robert Downey Jr. was great, only because he managed to stay clean during the shoot. Michael Douglas, Frances McDormand and Tobey Maguire are fantastic as well. Like any ensemble-driven, absurdist dramatic comedy, it bombed upon release.

Dr. J and I rented Wreck-It Ralph the other night for something different.

My new nickname is The Glitch.

Finally saw "Winter's Bone" last night. Loved the movie but the performances by John Hawke and Jennifer Lawrence were off the hook.

Why Top Gun is still fun to watch 28 years later (especially on HD with home theater sound system)

This Is 40. Absolutely HATED it. It wasn't funny or romantic. Hotel rental with family. I was out-voted. I wanted Django Unchained.

I have the DVD with the extended cut and absolutely love it. Fun, dumb action movie is right and I enjoyed every second. Wish we could see a sequel, but apparently it's not to be.

Hudson Hawk on demand. Yeah, it's crap, but I get a kick out of it.

I have found the worst movie I've ever seen and I can't turn away:

8 Heads in a Duffel Bag.

    "The Sessions."

    It's a wonderful little movie.

John Hawkes is a brilliant actor, and this may be his best work yet. I can't believe he didn't start getting these types of roles until now.

I also loved the William H. Macy priest character. A priest in a movie that's just a normal guy. Drinks beer. Sneaks a smoke from time to time. Listens. Converses. Cares.

    Helen Hunt's naked. A lot.

    There's always 1992's "The Waterdance."
