The Host, because my bride wanted to see it. Soarise Ronan is as wooden as Kristen Stewart, but the story was pretty entertaining.

Really? That surprises me. Most of the people I know who have seen it have liked it...

I really enjoyed that movie. Obviously, there's no chance any of that shit could happen in real life, but I'll be damned if I wasn't sitting there, stupidly thinking "Damn. That DEFINITELY looks like it could happen. HOLY SHIT WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!" while watching it.

And the effects they used to create the kick-ass machine guns....that was pretty awesome.

Same here... I'm not going to claim that it's realistic or the greatest movie of all-time, but I thought it was pretty highly entertaining...

Is that the Jamie Foxx/Channing Tatum movie?

  10. Got to love when Hollywood has two of the same movies come out in the same summer. Volcano/Dante's Peak, Armageddon/Deep Impact, etc.

I really liked it too and had same thoughts. "God, I hope our government has planned for this type of attack! And why is hollywood even filming this, it is so easy to actually do someone will get an idea."

The Prestige/The Illusionist ... and weren't there — of all things — two Steve Profontaine biopics that came out at roughly the same time?
