One of the few movies I've left angrier than when I went in.

Maybe the coolest part of the book, and the most terrifying, was when the kids were trapped behind a waterfall while a giant dinosaur, bent on killing them, tried to locate them by feel. I looked forward to seeing that scene in the movie because it loomed so large in the book, but it wasn't in the movie.

I had the same type of issue with "Forrest Gump" leaving out the scene in which Gump saved Mao Zedong from drowning in the river. Instead of that scene, the filmmakers made up a totally gratuitous story line in which Gump ran across America. It was horrible if you liked the book, which was just fine in itself.

I really enjoyed Oblivion; the sets and ships were great and the story was pretty interesting too.

I just watch "The Campaign" and it was funny as shit. I like Will Ferrell and Zach Ghowthefuckeveryouspellit. The fact the the fictitious area was in the general neighborhood of where my wife is from made it hit home.

So "Antichrist" was a tough watch, but had some staggeringly beautiful moments along with a truckload of weirdness. I totally get that von Trier had watched a bunch of Japanese horror films before making this.

The same basic story setup could make a creepy little Lifetime movie - minus the talking fox and smashed testicles and whatnot.

So my friends and I watched Wrong Turn 5 this evening, Mystery Science Theater style, and it was one of the worst films I've ever seen. Seriously, if you get the chance and want to watch a bad flick with a room full of sarcastic and humorous individuals, this is the one to do it in.
Also saw Oblivion and while I won't spoil it, the flick got a solid 8/10 from me until the final bullshit 30 seconds ruined what was a pretty sweet ending.

Silver Linings Playbook. Great movie. Loved the bipolar dance number.

If you're a Christian, you will be offended by 90 percent of the imagery in this film. The other 10 percent will gross you out.

Hyde Park on Hudson - Bill Murray does a great job as FDR. The story just doesn't have much meat. The guy who plays King George is nowhere near as capable as Colin Firth. The chick that plays Queen Elizabeth is a regular on the UK comedy series Peep Show. That was awfully distracting.

A buddy of mine called this the worst movie he's ever seen and he loved Zombie's take on Halloween.

I like Zombie's stuff and am one of the few on this earth to love "Halloween II," but this is his weakest movie. It's short on story for the sake of a lot of shock images for shock's sake. And his wife cannot carry a film. No idea what he was thinking. I liked Sherrie as Deborah Myers, but this was awful.

    Watched two tonight on Netflix.

    1) Erasing Hate: A documentary on a skin head who has left all of his white power groups, had a change of heart. Has a bunch of facial tattoos and as he gets them removed over the course of a year and a half, it takes a look back at his life and how he and his wife came to a realization hate they were spewing was all bullshit. Kinda neat actually.

    2) Pulp Fiction: Almost embarrassed to admit this is the first time I have ever watched it from start to finish. Seen bits and pieces here and there, but never the whole thing. Makes so much more sense now. Damn good show. Can't believe I put off watching it for so long.
