Who's going to see Gatsby? I'm wavering. Too many lukewarm reviews.

I saw it last night and enjoyed it but I've never read the book. A friend of mine that went, who is a high school teacher who teaches the book as part of his coursework, loathed it and said it was one of the worst adaptations he's ever seen.
If you do go, you can skip the 3D as there are only a few scenes where it really makes a difference. It's a beautiful movie though. Very visually appealing.
I liked Leo, hated Toby which is about what I expected. I'd give it a 6/10.

2:23. I'm going to pass until it's on DVD.

Yeah the first hour or so is pretty blah. You may find yourself checking your watch.

Most of the reviews I've seen of Gatsby suggest that it's beautiful shot, but that the story itself isn't that hot. However, if you had asked me how I thought any adaption of Gatsby might be, that's probably the definition I would give it. It was probably one of my favorite books of assigned reading in high school, but I don't think it was ever because of the character development or tightness of the story, it was because of F. Scott's vivid descriptions.

Finally saw "A Late Quartet" this afternoon. This is probably my favourite movie I've seen in the last few years. Really moving story and amazing actors. Highly recommended.

The Campaign is a stupid, vulgar movie. It's also very funny and frequently spot on.

The wife wanted to see Gatsby. Not worth even the price of two matinee tickets. Should've waited for a rental, but it wasn't my call. I think I dozed off twice.

Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist. A perfect movie.

SLP -- was as terribly overrated as I expected it to be.

Oscar voters chose J-Law's abs over Jessica Chastain's acting in ZDT.

I thought the whole thing smacked of a movie of the week, frankly.

Just finished The Impossible. Haunting movie and, quite possibly, the most insane and realistic disaster scene I've ever seen in a movie.
Strong performances all around. The only thing I disliked was I could kind of figure the fate of everyone out and it took away from some of the drama.
    Still, great flick.
