    "Silver Linings Playbook"

Quite forgettable, for an Oscar-nominated movie. The resolution was as rushed and contrived as it is in every other romantic comedy out there. The whole gambling thing was such a transparent attempt to shoehorn some stakes into the plot 3/4 of the way through.

    We got around to watching some movies that were on the DVR;

Drive - I am not sure I got it. The 80's soundtrack, the stylization, and Gosling's acting sort of confused me. I also don't understand given how crazy violent some scenes were why Nino's death was sort of glossed over.

Ides of March - was okay, kinda preachy, not very intense. It seems like it could have been a lot better.

The Expendables 2 - I knew what I was getting going in but still found my mind wandering while watching it.

3 movies I am glad I did not pay for at the the theatre although I am still thinking about Drive.

Love Leo but his last home run was Blood Diamond. He's been pedestrian to blah in everything since.

If you wonder where the other super heroes are with any comic-based story, you'll drive yourself nuts. The simple answer is usually that they are busy with their own stuff.

Regarding the Mandarin, I posted before that not being a big fan of Iron Man comics helps me here. I couldn't care less about the Mandarin. I like that they messed with expectations and did something different.

I didn't think much of 'Blood Diamond.'
And 'Inception' and 'Django Unchained' have both been better.

Inception was awful beyond words. One of the worst films I've ever seen.

It gets beat up around here pretty good, but 'Inception' was pretty good.
It certainly wasn't as good as the hype or marketing made it out to be, but that doesn't make it bad.
It was too long. I'll grant you that.

I had similar thoughts. I guess it gets extra points to me because at least it's trying to elevate itself. It kind of has diminishing returns though the further you get into it - By the end, I found it tough to follow what the eff was actually going on.

It was an awful movie. I even gave it another viewing just to make sure.

Sure, Nolan gets points for trying to execute his lofty vision but that's about it.

I got through Inception once, then I was with a bunch of friends one night and one of the guys was all hyped to watch it, I just left.

How was Shreveport, La., in the role of New York/New Jersey?
