I finally finished it. Four days in small doses, and I still wondered why I did that to myself.

God, it was awful. I didn't laugh once.

Bonnie and Clyde is coming up next. Hopefully that will not disappoint. I've never seen it.

I would sit in a corner and drool all weekend rather than be subjected to Ted again.

The preview for "Man of Steel" makes it look awful.

Not to mention even if it *was* by chance decent it would never approach "Superman" within a million miles.

Not to mention again, Michael Shannon is becoming Michael Caine. Is there a movie he *isn't* in lately?

It will be interesting to see if Galifianakis has much of a film career now that this trilogy is (presumably) done. I think he's funny, I just don't think he's going to get too many offers unless he's playing some version of Alan.

Pretty good. Very good acting, but I was not buying all the political symbolism.

And I thought the ending was too short and did not show what happened to a few of the characters. They just sort of told you.

But the is an ass kicking to end all ass kickings in the middle of this film.

Saw "Side Effects" with Jude Law and Rooney Mara and "Argo" this weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed both.

Side Effects wasn't a great film, per se, but I they did a nice job with it.

Life of Pi stuck with me more than Argo did, but I can't knock Argo in any way. Definitely one of the year's best.

  6. Funny, I think the preview for Man of Steel looks awesome and I'm excited to see it. But I'm not a comic book fan so I have no expectations of it other than it should be much better than the last reboot. I have high hopes for this flick. Of the big summer blockbusters, it's the one I'm looking forward to most.

    You are so right.

Watched "Lt. Dan Band: For the Common Good" again last night. Yeah, it's a documentary but, damn, Sinise is one hell of an American. When they do the show for the children who have lost a parent, I tear up, though it's wonderful to see the kids jumping up and down on stage with Sinise.

He's better as a snob than an idiot. He can do nuance. So can Will Ferrell, for that matter, but he usually opts for complete idiocy.

I remember right after the first Hangover came out, Zach was one one of the podcasts and he said, "If I can get 10 movies as a result of Hangover, I'll be lucky and hopefully, at least two of them will be good..."

Due Date and The Campaign both weren't terrible. Hangover 2 was fucking awful. Hangover 3 was pretty mediocre.

I know he has a buddy comedy with Owen Wilson coming up.

I don't think his appeal is nearly as broad as Ferrell's is.

I enjoyed The Campaign. Due Date wasn't as funny as I expected it to be, but I can't say I hated it. I think it was just a different movie than it was marketed as.

I love his comedy, but every time I see Galifankis interviewed, he seems like he doesn't give a shit that he's there. I understand it's part of his character, but it also tends to turn me off as a viewer. I kind of wish he'd just go back to stand-up, playing his piano and screaming at drunk bitches to shut up.

'Due Date' was terrible, but it looked obviously bad when it was being promoted. I avoided it until it came to DirecTV. Should have avoided it then, too.

'The Campaign' had some funny elements to it but overall wasn't good.

He had a straighter role in that bad movie about the kids in the psychaitric hospital. Terrible movie.
