Myers has always seemed more eccentric and uncomfortable with celebrity to me. I think I'd take Austin Powers over anything comedic Sandler has done, but Myers' lows are arguably even worse than Sandler's. I also think Sandler will have a longer shelf life - When he wants to, he could probably segue into that cameo / one-scene guy, and he has shown that he can be good in a drama (Punch Drunk Love, Spanglish).

The first two Austin Powers films were great.

The third one and The Love Guru, not so much.

Then again, he's probably so gottdam rich off the Shrek franchise that he never has to work again.

Yeah the third one was awful. Beyonce can't act for shit.

    Never saw The Love Guru.

Take This Waltz - Sarah Polley is the Michael Bay of quirky indie filmmakers. Nothing is subtle here. Long drawn out shots for no reason. Eccentric music that makes you cringe. Characters that just seem to be not of the human race. Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman are wasted. Michelle Williams, after a string of good performances, is just blah.

I thought Take This Waltz was a touch droll, but otherwise good. I liked the lack of subtlety - made it seem more interesting.

Finally saw Django Unchained. Better movie-making than a movie. Tarantino "samples" other films, mimics their genres - but I'd really like to see him make a completely original movie.

'Side Effects' - I really enjoyed it. Really caught me off guard.

Have not seen it but, wow, "Man of Steel" elicits very different reactions depending on your POV.

We run a review column sampling two opinions each week and the "MOS" grades were A and F.

"The Call." Pretty terrible. Nice concept, but execution was horrid. As was Halle Berry's hair.

Sandler is one of the best-liked people in Hollywood, Myers is one of the most despised.

Myers is an amazing talent, but every successful movie he's done seems to come with stories about how difficult he is to work with.

Most of the people who work regularly with Sandler (and granted, these are his friends, who he has helped make very rich... ) would take a bullet for him.

I don't like most of Sandler's recent movies, but it is pretty cool that everybody who works with him seems to have nothing but nice things to say about the guy. I get the sense it's the exact opposite with Myers, who has feuded with Carvey, among others... I remember reading something a couple years ago that said he might be one of the most hated people in Hollywood.

I respect a lot of the decisions Pitt makes. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any movie he's been in that has been truly awful and he's been in a couple of my favorite movies ever (Se7en, Fight Club). I hated the second of the Oceans trilogy, but that's not really just on him. I haven't seen Killing Him Softly, but I've heard some say it was great and others have said it was dreadful. I didn't really like Troy, but it wasn't horrible.

He makes a lot of movies that make almost no money at the box office and some of those are just tremendous films (The Assassination of Jesse James jumps out at me as one example.).
