Saw "World's Greatest Dad" last weekend. It was terrific, as was Robin Williams. Very funny.

Wife recorded "Arbitrage" on DVR (Richard Gere); liked how Ebert's review was (paraphrasing) "usually you get innocent man wrongly accused" and here you got "guilty man rightly accused." Not a bad movie for free. Gere does distinguished rich guy pretty good; Sarandon as rich wife not bad and Brit Marling is a bright star.

Just finished watching a movie called "Once."

An indy film that actually led to the musical pairing of the two leads, Glen Hansard and Marketa Inglova, who now record as The Swell Season. I'll be looking into buying some of their discs. Really nice story and performance by the leads, neither of which are actors.

The movie is now a Tony Award-winning musical on Broadway.

Hahahah "A movie called "Once." The song won an Oscar and the album was Grammy nominated.

It's not like the movie flew under the radar.

Actually, considering it was shot for about 130,000 Euros and has grossed about $20-million worldwide, I'd suggest it most definitely flew under the radar of most. And since it came out during a summer I was on the major league baseball beat, it could have done 100 times those numbers and been under my radar. :D

Hey, that's a soundtrack I forgot to mention I owned over on the music thread.

That's the only movie I've seen three times in theaters, as I loved it the first time and then took others to see it two more times. I've also seen the musical, own the soundtrack, and saw them in concert. I'm a bit of a fan.

I became aware of Hansard when he recorded at "The Luncheonette" on the show Parenthood. Then found out he had formed "The Swell Season," and I already liked their song on the Dear John soundtrack. Now I'll be buying this soundtrack in the next few days.
