MISSING, off the top of my head, and I have seen each one of these at least 10 times:
    Mrs. Miniver
    Citizen Kane
    Fort Apache
    The Quiet Man
    Spartacus
    Sunset Blvd
    The Great Escape
    Key Largo
    Bonnie and Clyde
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
The Bridge Over the River Kwai
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
    The Graduate
    Lawrence of Arabia
    Patton
    The Last Emperor
    Empire of the Sun
    Annie Hall
    From Here to Eternity
    Network
    The Lion in Winter
    My Favorite Year
    The Hustler
    Casablanca
    Angels with Dirty Faces
    Maltese Falcon
    The Caine Mutiny
    Body Heat
    Full Metal Jacket
Once Upon a Time in America, the uncut original director's version.

Rosemary's Baby is a cultural touchstone, but I don't think its a great movie. And I may be alone but A Street Car Named Desire is not one of my favorites at all.

Watching Easy Rider (on YouTube, technology is great) and it's beautifully shot.

    Peter Fonda defined heartthrob.

I was looking for a classic film on Netflix last night from the ones available for streaming. Selection is pretty thin.

That was certainly a strange ending to Easy Rider.

Just before it ends, when they're camping for the night, Hopper is all too pleased and said they made it big and can retire in Florida but Fonda says "We blew it."

Didn't understand that line. Any help?

I disagree with some of the order and some inclusions.

I've seen all but 7. The only post-war movie I've missed is Schindler's List. I can't watch another holocaust movie.

Crime Wave - 1954 police procedural that's drenched in noir style. Just about the entirety is shot on location in Los Angeles (and man is it wonderfully gritty). A young Charles Bronson is a great scum bag greaser crook. Lots of great 1950s cop talk. Loved that it clocked in at about 70 minutes.

I've never seen "Citizen Kane," but I've seen "Casablanca" and "The Godfather" countless times, and they're ranked 1 and 1A in my book.

So: Is "Citizen Kane" really better than those movies? And why? Just curious.

Interesting take on Fonda's "We blew it" line with references to a young Hilary Rodham:
