    Last 3

Lone Survivor - Thought it was damn good. Not in my top 5 war movies of all time though

End of Watch - Enjoyed it. Didn't love it.

Zodiac - I'm a sucker for serial killer movies and I had very little knowledge of Zodiac. Love when movies make me go to Wiki to look up more information on the case etc.

It's one of the stronger X movies, but the finale falls apart for me.

    Captain Phillips

Hanks getting the medical exam was about as strong an acting performance as I have ever seen. Very good movie, but that scene was fantastic.

    Some background on the scene.

I haven't seen that Hanks movie yet.
But I did watch that documentary about Somali piracy.

That scene really is amazing, moreso when you hear the story behind it.

Silver Linings Playbook, again. See little nuggets in it every time. Also this Alice in Wonderland ripoff Malice in Wonderland with Maggie Grace. Quirky concept, but scattershot delivery and predictable twist.

The "Oscar moment" that didn't even warrant a nomination, apparently ...

Saw Silver Linings Playbook the other night on SHO. Really liked it. I keep hearing that it's so depressing, and parts of it are, but I found the overall story pretty uplifting.

Saw All is Lost last night. Thoroughly engrossing but I'm not a fan of the ending.

    They missed the boat.

What's odd is it did not seem to be an Oscar movie or performance until that scene. It stands out greatly from the rest of the movie.

Watched this last night. Very good movie. And yes, that scene was very good. Sometimes I think acting looks easy, but then a scene like this, and you can really tell the pros (Hanks) from the good-looking people who know how to read lines (Megan Fox).
