Finally saw Gravity. meh. For a Doctor with 6 months NASA training Bullock was certainly the greatest astronaut since Captain Kirk.

Was there a movie set or did the entire thing get shot in front of a green screen?
Will there be a part 2, where Bullock crawls to civilization? Does she meet Tom Hanks on the way?

Watched Truman this morning. As expected, a well-done HBO biopic that does a good job of capturing the complexities of his presidency and personal struggles. Sinise also did a great job of getting the southern Missouri accent down.

Tonight, for our anniversary, we're doing a double feature with August: Osage County and Lone Survivor. I expect both to be very good.

Watched first 10 minutes of "Captain America: Winter Soldier" online tonight. I'm stoked.

August: Osage County is some of the best acting I've ever seen from Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. Benedict Cumberbatch, with a non-British accent took some getting used to. A very depressing movie, but also extremely well-done.

Lone Survivor was just tough to watch, but in a good way. Powerful, powerful stuff. Amazing job by Peter Berg.

The Heat - Bullock and McCarthy should do more movies together.

    April can't arrive fast enough.

  7. Gangster Squad; not great by any stretch, but an enjoyable shoot 'em up.

"Shoot 'Em Up," with Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti, is also enjoyable.

That's probably the last b&w film I saw, and you're right.

Shoot 'Em Up is one fun movie to watch. Same reason I love the Expendables movies. They'll never win any Oscars, but they don't expect to, either.

    Thanks.

Also ... Trouble with the Curve. I don't regret watching it, but it was nothing special. Schmaltzy, and don't think too hard about it, but on the face it was OK.

This is a funny little thing about Bradley Cooper and Louis CK.
