Last movie you watched......

  1. Ender's Game ... I enjoyed it. Watched it with the kids, who also liked it.

Mud ... I could not get into this about half-way through I turned it off.

Marvel is actually getting pretty good at putting their comic book heroes on screen. Captain America was outstanding. Plot line are a bit different from the comic book storylines but that's OK. I'm pleased with what they're doing. Oh and the way Stan Lee is seen in every flick is great.

Even in the horrendous first Hulk movie, Stan Lee's cameo with Lou Ferrigno - both as security guards - was awesome.

I'd forgotten about that. He and Ferrigno were both in the one with Edward Norton, too, but only Ferrigno was a security guard in that one.

I don't love all of his cameos, but I thought the one in Winter Soldier was funny.

Just came back from seeing The Winter Soldier (like OOP, I felt I had to see it right away before viewing the next AofS episode), and thought it was fantastic. I really didn't see the plot twist coming, so I really enjoyed that. Great cast, great action and an interesting story.

Seeing the whole subplot with Winter Soldier/Bucky took me back to the first Captain America and my thoughts on the Bucky Barnes character after Cap rescued him: Afterwards, it seemed like Bucky was a little off (there was just a couple of lines in that one talking about the experiments he was undergoing) in his dialogue with Steve and with his expressions. Also, I remember a subtle thing during the Howling Commandos montage when Bucky picked off a Nazi soldier who was about to shoot Cap. When the scene started, Bucky actually had the crosshairs on Cap and then suddenly moved up his aim to kill the Nazi. Those were just small things, but I wonder if the director put those in as a bit of foreshadowing as to his future role in TWS and beyond.

Just an FYI, you might want to toss a spoiler warning on there since you're pretty much giving away the whole movie and it's been out for three days.
I don't care as I've already seen it but still.
Anyway, I echo the love for Captain America here but it was far from perfect. I have to rewatch it to really judge it but it seemed like it took a while for me to get invested in this one. Luckily, the good far outweighed the bad. In particular, I thought Anthony Mackie was terrific in his role and a really pleasant surprise.

Definitely heading way too far into spoiler territory for a movie that hasn't even been out a week yet, especially on a thread that isn't just about that movie.

My apologies. I edited the post to contain the leakage.

Yesterday I watched both White Men Can't Jump (again) and The Hangover Part III.
I forgot how ridiculous White Men Can't Jump is. I do enjoy it, but man...

To say the The Hangover III was a dark comedy would be an understatement because it's not exactly funny and is more of a violently dark coming-of-age story for Alan.

Has anyone else here seen Bad Words? I'm curious if others like it as much as I did.
