I watched a Greg Kinnear/Jennifer Connelly movie yesterday called Stuck In Love. While I'm sure it was a hit with romantic potheads, I found the whole thing to be an annoying melodrama.

We watched '42' Sunday afternoon. Have had it recorded for a while and was waiting.
Amazing that someone could make a bad movie out of that story.

Saw a screening of Transcendence tonight and the curse-laden tirade after the movie with Joe Williams of the Post-Dispatch going off on somebody outside the theater (in the building) was more entertaining than the movie.
It was a thought-provoking movie, but also a slow-paced and boring love story wrapped in the guise of a sci-fi film.

I enjoyed "Now You See Me," which only got two stars from Comcast but is better than that. Top-notch cast - I liked seeing Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg play off each other again. Good caper film.

Thank you. I was so looking forward to watching this and after it was over I was completely disappointed.

"Last Play at Shea" - a documentary mixing concert footage from Billy Joel's show that closed the place, historical footage, interviews with athletes and others who worked there and a lot on Joel's career. I thought I'd put it on and be able to just listen to it while working, but I ended up watching pretty much the entire thing. Pretty fascinating.

I highly enjoyed this film. Now I want to see Wan's "Insidious" films.

Grand Budapest Hotel -- Thoroughly enjoyable. The usual amount of Wes Anderson whimsy. Loved Ralph Fiennes and the kid who played Zero, and Willem Dafoe was a total badass. Probably not the best Anderson movie, but it was excellent. The visuals were fantastic, and F. Murray Abraham was great as well.

The Canyons -- I love Bret Easton Ellis, but my God, this was garbage. When Lindsey Lohan is the only competent actor in your film, you have problems.

    The Wolf of Wall Street.

Too long, and they played that one note the whole damn movie. I had much higher expectations. At least the blonde was most definitely a 6.

I lived and experienced the global recession.
I'm not going to watch a movie about it for entertainment.
One that appears to glorify the robber barons who wrecked our economy.

I'm usually not big on whimsy (ie, I think I may be the only person who didn't like Moonrise Kingdom) but I loved The Grand Budapest Hotel.
