And yet they got American dollars from you.

I have to wonder what people are thinking when they fork over money for this kind of stuff. "Well, THIS time it will be different!"

Note to self: stay out of this thread.

First the Cap spoilers and now this. (Spidey was my fav comic growing up and I suspect what happens, but still. Come on!)

It has an extremely high rating (89 %) on Rotten Tomatoes, so clearly some people enjoy it.

    Good to know, OOP, thanks.

X-Men is the one I'm really looking forward to this spring/summer, so I won't get too twisted up about this one.

Same here. In fact, that is why I haven't seen Amazing Spider-Man 2 yet. Mrs. OOP went with me to see Cap and she knew she would be going with me to see X-Men, so she got to choose what we saw Saturday night. If I was going to miss one of the three in the theaters, Spidey was going to be it.

Watched "Out of the Furnace" tonight with reasonably high expectations (I hold Bale, Harrelson and Casey Affleck in high regard), but I was let down.

The director seemed to think the material was more high-minded than it really was. In the end, it was a simple revenge flick, but it was made with sweeping aerial shots, lots of long, conflicted gazes and it felt about 30 minutes too long even with a running time just under 2 hours.

I won't give away the ending, but I'll say it was unsatisfying.

Actually I didn't pay anything to see it. Movie comes out Friday and I saw an advanced screening for free on Tuesday.

This was one of the "positive" reviews:
"A few big laughs but weakly drawn characters mean a film that is enjoyable enough in the moment but then quickly forgotten."
    Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Comic book blockbusters are a bitch to make. That said, ASM2 is hulking mess. The worst of the 5, IMO.

Want to watch FED UP, about our country's food problem, namely sugar. Looks and sounds provocative though 60 Minutes ran that big piece on sugar last year.

"If foreign nations were doing that to our kids, we would defend our families."

  12. Elysium.. Sci Fi, bald Matt Damon flick. It should have been better. It had a lot of the elements and potential, but it missed.

    Girl Most Likely.
Supposedly a comedy with Kirsten Wiig. I got through 15, 20 minutes and turned it off. A boring, unfunny, chick flick.

    Blackthorn
Western that picks with Butch Cassidy 20 years later in Bolivia. It's Ok, until the end. It was flat.
    Not a great western.
