Saw Space Jam again the other day. Quite possibly the best sports movie ever made.

Agreed on all accounts. I've read a lot of the Ultimate lines - Spidey and X-Men were the two I read the most in college. But, wish there was more Norman in the new Spidey movies (Dafoe was great!).

Also, not sure how I felt about the ending. I like where it's going, but concerned on the origins. Oh well, just a movie and I'm sure it'll be done in a good way.

I really liked it too. A beautifully shot movie and beautifully shot in a way that perfectly served the atmosphere of the film.

Wifey and I rented and watched the Dark Shadows movie starring Johnny Depp on Blu-ray- it was much better than FART expected.
They did a good job of recreating the early 1970s and the music of the period, and even featured an appearance by Alice Cooper.
The movie's atmosphere and moodiness reminded me a lot of Tim Burton's earlier movie, Beetlejuice.

    Also, Eva Green is hot.

Django Unchained - don't know why I waited so long. Django is one bad-ass of a character. I'd sure want him on my side if I were in trouble!

For the first time, Flash Gordon - really liked it a lot. It was so light in tone for the most part that I found it delightful as compared to modern superhero movies. The soundtrack by Queen also helps, as that guitar throughout the final 20 minutes is pretty bitchin'. I'd love if someone tried to do a Gordon-style treatment of one of the Marvel or DC properties, but there's no effin' way that would happen nowadays.

  7. Thought I read somewhere of plans to remake Flash.

Yeah - FOX has the rights, with the guys doing Star Trek 3 (the new one that's unreleased as of now, not TOS) writing a script for it as of April 2014.

The more I think about Spidey II, the more it irritates me how Peter has yet learn anything in these movies. No regret, no lessons. Gah. OK, just a comic book movie.

A new version of 'Flash Gordon' would try to be gritty and 'real.'

Saw "Two Days" last night. It starts Paul Rudd as a depressed actor that plans to commit suicide. He hires a film crew to document his last two days. I enjoyed it. It's free with Amazon Prime if anyone else is interested.
