Saw Hangover III and Pacific Rim this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised by both.

Hangover III wasn't as funny as the first, but they were smart to ditch the recycled format of II. It had some funny moments and was worth the 1:45.

Pacific Rim was a quality popcorn flick. It was a bit of a derivative mashup of Independence Day and Top Gun, but those are some good movies to rip off. My biggest quibble was that all the battle scenes took place in the dark.

Yeah, without getting too close to spoilers, I think we'll see the character we all know as it gets closer.

Not really news that the character will be in the next movie, but definitely best to avoid the spoiler for now.

I think part of it is that they haven't even cast the guy we will see in that movie yet.

True. Give it a few more days before we really get talking about this arc! I'm interested in the who the four will be for the movie as well.
Edit: I wanted to rank the X-Men movies now that we have a bunch.
    X-2
    DoFP
    FC
    X-1
    The Wolverine
    X-3
    Wolverine Origins

That's how I'd rank them, too.

Ronin - never gets old. Great movie.

I agree. I just love the feel of it. It's on TV a lot, and I can never seem to turn it off when it pops on.

Robert De Niro really kicks ass all the way through, though he has a soft spot for Natascha McElhone. Heck, I would too! Loved the part where he exposes Sean Bean as a wannabe SAS commando.

Days of Future Past. Not sure how I feel about this one. Was a good action movie, but had some MAJOR continuity issues that are still bugging me. I expect some problems, but this was a lot more than I expected. I can deal with the end and what it means for the past/future movies, but they kinda picked and chose what they wanted from the original trilogy to use for emotional impact and ignored the rest, which left some huge holes in the plot.

I understand being careful for spoilers, but do you mean continuity issues in Days of Future Past or within the entire series? Because the series was already a mess when it comes to continuity.

Within DoFP. I know the series was a mess already. But they used so many sequences from past movies in this one that it just seems ridiculous to ignore so many other things from those movies just to fit the plot they wanted. And there's one huge thing they never address that, if I remember right, we were told would be addressed, a question that first came up after the post-credit scene from "The Wolverine" was out.

Star Trek (The reboot): Probably would have enjoyed it more if I was a big Trek person, but it was okay.

The Damned United: Really enjoyed it. Didn't realize teams moved up (and down) that much in the FA. A great sports movie.

Rush: Probably Ron Howard's most artistic movie, can't go wrong with a Peter Morgan script (see above). Easily more exciting than yesterday's Monoco GP.
