Watched 'Lone Survivor' the other night.

Some of it was hard to watch, especially when they were trying to get away from the Taliban.

You went through all the Highlander movies and missed "The Source"!?

Sounds like a good decision to me. I was a fan of the original and the television series and I thought Endgame was ok, but The Source was just awful.

Same here. Was being a bit sarcastic. I've seen The Source several times on SyFy. No matter how many times I see it, no matter how many times I try to make sense of it, it remains incomprehensible.

I assumed you were being sarcastic. I don't see how anybody could actually like The Source. I only watched it once, but it was so bad, I never wanted to bother to watch again to try to make some sense out of it.

Even Endgame, with its slapped-on, lazy final scene, was a far superior movie.

Endgame was like a pretty good, two-hour TV episode. They followed the villain-of-the-week formula, which worked if you were a fan of the show.
Source tried to ... oh hell, I have no idea what Source was trying to do. Tie everything into a bow? Explain the mythos? Your guess is as good as mine.
The sad part is, there was a third movie planned with Duncan. The Source was such a shitshow on so many fronts that it annihilated the franchise.

SyFy comes up with some quality programming at times. Battlestar Galactica being the prime example. But it also shows a lot of crap that doesn't even quality as a B-movie. Confusing plots. Lousy acting. Terrible production quality. The Source fit right in with that crap on every level. Not the worst thing I ever saw, but the level of disappointment as a fan of the series drags it even lower.

Highlander: The Source does not exist.

Dakota is fantastic. Elle just lights up the screen. Maybe it's just the roles -- Dakota's done some pretty serious roles, dating back to I am Sam. It's not that she never communicates happiness. It just seems it occurs more and more naturally for Elle.

I really enjoyed Maleficient, although it helped that I had my wife beside me to explain all the Disney-isms in it (it was her versions of a Marvel movie, with some much backstory floating around). Plus we're both big fans of Angelina so if you follow her life story, it's interesting how much of what goes on onscreen reflects her actual life in some ways (namely...that the adopted mom can play such a meaningful role in a kids life).

If you have a 10-year-old or thereabouts, you've gotta take her to see this one; it's a nice bookend to Brave when it comes to empowering girls.

Going to see a screening of Edge of Tomorrow tonight. I'll let you know how it is.

Previews look great, but Cruise has been woefully unreliable as of late. MI:4 was surprisingly good, but Jack Reacher was OK/mediocre and Oblivion was dreadfully boring.
