And from one of L&O's best episodes ever:

Stone: She doesn't have an uncle.

  2. And then the look that Schiff gives him.
    GREAT ep.

Stone's last episode was up there, too.

  4. CJ Cregg -- jailed for perjury and then gunned down in the street.
    "I'm clear as a bell."

Schiff: You got around double jeopardy. You climbed Everest in your shorts. On a cold day.

That ep still gives me goose bumps, it was so good.

I can't believe no one has gotten around to mentioning Robinette when he was teamed up with Stone. Great chemistry. Plus, Greevey and Logan, if provoked, would have played judge and executioner with any suspect. Fuck the jury part.

Note to Dick Wolf, NBC, and USA: make the deal. Let Logan return back to his old stomping grounds.

Tonight's CI could be a fun one to watch between D'Onoforio and Roy Schneider (it appears to be him in the jumpsuit) during the previews.

  7. They did bring Robinette back, as a defense lawyer.
Great tee-off between him and McCoy.
"I don't have 100 lawyers in the DA's office and the whole New York City police force. That's you, Jack. You're the baddest ass on the block."

    Robinette was very underrated.

Law & Order has really changed over the years.
-- The first three seasons, then they gave the boot to Robinette.
-- The next one with Stone on his way out.
-- The first three or four seasons of the Jack McCoy era were the best, IMO. Ross was a very good second banana, as was Claire -- and Ross could call bullshit on McCoy when necessary, since she had the gravitas.
-- Last five or six years seems to have been running on fumes. Once Angie Harmon came on board ... egads.

The episode where Jerry Orbach is playing a defense attorney ... forgotten all about that.

Whoever said the show wasn't the same after Schiff left is right. Almost as good as Lennie in the one-liners department.

Schiff to McCoy: "Don't bother inviting me to your disbarment party."

"Quick! Shut the door before someone brings in a case we can win!"

"We're dealing with a judge who has to look to his right to see Thurgood Marshall..."

"A girl raped, a sister on trial for murder, Shambala Green with a jury--she'll milk 'em till they moo."

  11. And, the best --
"When did we hand this office over to the Marx Brothers?"

Adam: "Youth has no patience with the elderly, particularly the troublesome and cantankerous."
Ben [smiling, to Claire]: "Sounds like personal experience."
    Adam: "I'm a teddy bear...and middle-aged!"
