Ah yes, featuring the meltdown/explosion/technicals/ejection by Rasheed Wallace in the knockout game, turning a close game into a blowout. The Cavs were gonna win anyway of course but the Sheedster turned it into a romp.

Anybody who thinks this season's steaming shitburger laid by Sheed was something new or something unusual is referred to this game.

And the LeBron bashing is fucking moronic.

Sometimes the experts are just wrong and deem the wrong team as the one who's "supposed" to win. They didn't do that with Jordan. His team was only deemed as the favorite AFTER they had won a title. Cavs were deemed the favorite without any history to justify it.

But instead of looking inward and saying, "Uh, we jumped the gun on that one. Didn't see how well the Celtics have been playing . . . didn't see the holes in the Cavs' roster . . . " they just rip the favored team/player for not coming through "like we said you were going to."

This does sort of ignore the fact that Cleveland had the best regular season record, finished 11 games ahead of Boston, took 2 out of 3 from them in the regular season, and then won 2 out of the first 3 in the playoffs.

I'd suggest that having the league's best record for two consecutive years is some recent "history" that would justify their favorite status. You make it sound like they got the No. 1 seed based upon some sort of subjective voting. No, it was because they had the league's best record and most impressive regular season for two straight years.

That just means they played every night, which is what it takes to get the no. 1 seed. Boston admittedly rationed minutes for its old timers in order to get ready for the playoffs and did so even if it meant losing a few games in the regular season.

But anyone who really believes Cleveland, with LeBron James and a lot of shit, is better than Boston, with three perrenial All Stars, two of whom could be hall of famers, and a fourth guy - Rondo - who is getting close to that level, then you have been sniffing too much glue.

Cleveland lost because Boston is a better team.

  8. Thank you Zag......About the first time we 100 percent agree on something. Boston had four of the best five players in the series

They DID? Surely Cleveland had SOMEONE who compares favorably to those Celtics stars!

    OK, probably not.

Did anyone really write that after Jordan hit the game winner against G-Town and captained one of the great Olympic teams of all time?

Now that is a solid catch. And I'd further note that, in addition to Varejao, Mo Williams was an NBA all star last year; Jamison was an NBA All Star only two years ago and was averaging over 20 ppg and nearly 10 rpg for Washington at the time Cleveland acquired him this year; and Shaq (washed up though he is) is only one of the 5 greatest centers who ever lived.

It's funny how, when the playoffs began, the popular word from Cavs fan was to boast about how much they'd upgraded themselves this year by adding Jamison, Shaq, Moon and Hickson. But, after another meltdown, they suddenly fall back on the ole "Lebron's just a one man team with no support at all" meme.

Sorry, that excuse don't get the mileage it did back in 07. First, the Cavs have made significant changes to upgrade their roster since then. Second, and most importantly, in 07 it was quite obvious from watching the games that Lebron came to play every night and the problem was on his teammates. But that was definitely NOT the case watching this year's Boston series.

Sure, people were writing it all the time up to about 1990.
