The Classical is more J.D. than Dr. Cox.

Well, they can be mean spirited and snarky and know-it-all, but ultimately I think they want to be loved and have a good heart. At least most of them. They just can't resist needling people and feeling superior much of time, raging against the system and then trying to find ways to entertain themselves that will validate their own smarts.

Until The Classical starts paying people, it seems a little tin-eared to be making fun of Bleacher Report.

I am pretty sure The Classical pays for some of its content.

Plenty of people. Sadly, I'm not one of them.

    Meanness is more interesting.

It has a ton of fat in it. A ton of irrelevant information that's in there to obscure, in part, that the writing is average.

Depends. It certainly can be if it's clever. If it's just dumb bullying, it's as boring as writers jerking off one another on Twitter and humble bragging about their expense accounts.

Conflict drives stories. I would love to never again see a receipt from a restaurant I've never heard of on some sports writer's Twitter feed.

    Do people do that?
