This week, Brooke actually puts some heart into it. And props for tickling the ivories. And I think she could win it all (a big change from wanting to oust her, I know) because I think she can go big voice.

I'm not a big fan. She's safe for the next few weeks, but I don't see the teeny boppers keeping her around much beyond that... I kind of feel the same way about the other rocker girl, who isn't bad, but by the judges' reactions you'd think she was the reincarnate of Janis Joplin...

Brooke will be the last woman standing this year, she could pull a McPhee and finish second or third.

ZZZZZZZ (sorry, IJAG). Couldn't hit the high notes, botched a couple of words. Totally neutered a rocker of a song. At this point, my choice to get the boot.

  5. Why do people keep saying Amanda isn't bad?
She is HORRIBLE. Complete one-note act, and she's not even that good at that one note. Weird singing, weird pronunciation, weird dancing, weird hair -- just plain weird and by far the least talented performer remaining.

Amanda would have been better off without all the background singers. Her voice got lost in them. She did OK; I think she survives, but she didn't progress.

  7. Obviously it's just my opinion, but I have yet to hear any performance from Amanda I would rate as even average.
Dialidol.com is saying the only one safe is Archuleta. They have Syesha at the bottom for the second straight week.

Do you think I have a shot? *fingers crossed*

  9. That depends on whether he is a pitcher or a catcher, doesn't it?

    DAMN YOU DIAL IDOL!

I did NOT spend the better part of two hours pushing the disconnect button and then the redial button to STILL have him in the bottom two!!!

Fine performance by Michael, tho I think he hasn't matched Light My Fire. Simon's critique is spot on. He should win this going away, chops- and presence-wise. But he seems to be holding back.

Kristy did this in way too fast a tempo. It could have worked as a slower country song. As it was, she rushed through it breathlessly. And the passion was drained clear out of it. It feels like calculated Nashville trash. She's been puffed up too much to be jettisoned yet.
