    My rankings:

    --Carly
    --David Cook
    --Castro
    --Chikeze
    --Brooke White
    --Amanda
    --Syesha
    --Michael Johns
    --Hernandez
    --Ramielle
    --Kristy Lee Cook
    --Archeletta

    Prediction: Kristy Lee goes home

I've seen every single episode of Idol ever made, and I think Archeletta's performance was the WORST.

Makes me long for the days of Bucky Covington.

I don't know whether to be impressed or scared that you're seen every one.

Rock solid.... though I would move Johns up a few spots.

And, I hope Archuleta is gone, but I think it is the Oz actor's doppelganger, Hernandez.

According to Richard Rushfield in the LA Times...Chikezie's rendition of the song “My Love Dont Give Me Presents" was a highlight of Idol's Lennon/McCarthy night.

Edit: He has corrected the song title. But Paul remains McCarthy.

Even worse than Brandon Rogers when he forgot the lines?

And I don't get the love for Brooke. She's done the same thing two weeks in a row. At some point, she's going to have to do more than sing well over one instrument during a hushed performance.

Right now, I'm rooting for David Cook. Kansas City guy, and I've liked his performance the most two weeks running. Chekezie did great last night, too. Syesha gets a pass for last night, thanks to Kristy Lee Cook.

Chickeze (sp) did great last night.

His name still reminds me of a Chick-fil-a dinner and a package of Cheetos.

Chickeize needed a big night and he hit that sucker DEEEEEEEP. Funky, rocky and actually connected to the song. Don't know about the preppy outfit though. Tops of the night.
Carly was also strong, though somewhat predictable.
A huge mess of mediocre in the middle. Brooke was wise to keep Let it Be low-key and not turn it into an anthem. Amanda was interesting. Hernandez was way too Vegas, Archuleta proved he's human, Castro is boring. And I guess I'm the only one who thought Cook's performance of Eleanor Rigby turned a melancholy song into one of mocking and scorn. Didn't dig it. Johns performance was pretty bland.
The three chicks, Ramielle, Syesha and Kristi sucked. I actually think Kristy sucked bad enough to stay on another week, because people will feel sorry for her and vote because they realize she's on the block. If it was slowed down a bit to a swing beat instead of a jig, it might have been listenable. At this point, if you haven't been the "best of the night" you are living on borrowed time.

Misspelling McCartney is pretty bad, but as for the writing, I thought Rushfield's piece was what every blog/review should be. Great use of language, if not a spell check.

Brooke screwed up the words about 20% into the song and nobody said anything. My only question with her is what happens if she is forced to go up tempo. Simon killed the Baby for doing gloomy songs and he stepped out this week and screwed up big time. Same could happen for Brooke.
