Let me christen the first "American Idol" 2008 thread

Well, folks, I don't know about you, but I find these "production numbers" to be cringe-worthy.

 

And David goes and spurns me by wearing the double popped collar tonight. It makes it harder to keep defending him...

 

How I hate you! I hadn't started watching yet, so I thought you meant Hernandez. With Davids, we have to use last names or at least initials.

Or I might just call them Hottie, Precocious and Rocker.

 

Ha! I meant Archuleta.

And shottie, catching up a bit late, you're not alone. I HATE the group numbers.

 

Syesha's the first in the bottom three this week.

Is this thing they're doing, with the person performing as he/she is announced in the bottom three, a new thing?

 

Look, I know the lives of these people have changed for the better, but what's the point in making them sing just seconds after being told they are in the bottom 3? Even after they are told they're leaving?

 

Just smacks of "Hey, gang, let's put on a show!"

 

To fill 62 minutes of broadcast time?

 

Filling time. They have to make an hour or half-hour out of something they could do in 10 seconds.
