Let me christen the first "American Idol" 2008 thread

this is about the time it starts to blow. any of the top singers now can break out, regardless of the vote. 'cause americans are stoopid, there are bound to be a couple voted off during the once-a-week water torture who are inexplicably cut.

maybe that doesn't happen for another month, but it's a-comin'. i hate that i've been sucked in for the second straight year. effin' writer's strike!

 

I'm waiting for a week where the judges say that the contestants don't have to step it up.

 

I wasn't impressed with the first girl - eyesha or whatever - I was stunned Simon liked it.

And now jacuzzi. I like it but this is not what I was picturing when he said "funk."

 

OK, here's my ratings (I was watching it on Tivo about a half-hour late with my roommate, so I started voting for Hernandez as soon as he finished singing. I've voted roughly 200,284,028,281 times and have gotten through every single time. Bad sign).

David sucked. Hard. But thank god Kristy Lee Cook went off her medication and did THAT to Eight Days a Week. That combined with my soon-to-be-broken redial finger might assure my gay stripper boyfriend another week.

 

Syesha was largely uninteresting.

 

Cook and Delores O'Riordan are the two best thus far ... well shit, Brooke sounds damn good as well ...

Slow down, I just got done with Jacoozi ... who needs to rock out more often. He's better when he takes chances.
