  1. Just for fun - can anyone name the current MLB free agent named after a US president?

Heard on the radio while I was out that the Jays did re-sign Zaun today

  3. One year at $8 million with team option for second year. That's less than what Greg Maddux contract for last year was.

  4. 2-years $7.25 million.

That's where I saw it too. Not putting much stock in it though.

SI.com, WFAN and the YES network are all reporting that the Yankees won the posting for left-hander Kei Igawa with $25 million. Not sure what to think about this since he is projected as a back of the rotation guy, but maybe it is still better than paying Adam Eaton $8 million per year.

Ok, if rotoworld is your link, you should be penalized for premature linkage. Yes, they're fast. It's because they couldn't care less about accuracy. Not to mention the frequency with which the site gets hacked, often with fake news items being posted (I think they had one with Jeter announcing he was gay last year).

Well if you would of clicked on the link, you would of noticed Rotoworld cited SI and the other two sources I mentioned. AP also has it as well as ESPN and Cashman has confirmed it, are you waiting for the guy to fly over here so you can meet him in person before you believe it?

AL Central could be tough next year.

And this rumor could make it tougher: Crede and Garland to the Angels for Erwin Santana and Figgins.

I really like this deal for the White Sox, especially if Figgins reverts to 2005 Figgins and not the 2006 version.
I also read some rumors lately that the White Sox are interested in Manny and are dangling Buerhle or Vasquez, but do they have enough pitching to lose Garland and Buerhle/Vasquez? I guess McCarthy would move into the rotation finally.
