As opposed to the fiscal restraint they showed with the Soriano deal.....

Adam Eaton got $8 million a season. Schmidt will get in the range of $15 million.

More than Wolf being a great signing for the Dodgers, I think there is still significant risk of injury but potential for high reward, I think it's a great deal for Wolf. If his arm falls off, that will happen anywhere, but by keeping himself in the NL, especially the NL West with all of the weak offenses, and going to a pitchers park & pretty good team that will get him win totals. Then you hit the market in a year, with numbers as cosmetically attractive as possible. He got good advice.

At the time they posted it, this wasn't confirmed. I try to avoid going on that site. Too many pop-ups and viruses, though I understand it has been cleaned up a bit.

Sorry, couldn't pass up the chance to make fun of their style of "journalism."

  6. Guy - its one year with a team option. So he only costs as much as Adam Eaton in 2007 and the team gets to make the call on 2008.

Royce Clayton now a Blue Jay.

Is it just me, or are the Jays looking good for the 2007 season?

Yeah, signing Royce Clayton should put them over the top. [/sarcasm]

What, you don't think a guy who hit .258 last year and will be 37 by opening day is going to make a big impact for the Blue Jays?

Hey, I wasn't saying Clayton is the answer or even an answer (although I expected people to assume that), but Clayton's better than what they had up the middle: Aaron Hill, Russ Adams.

If you had an Edsel then bought a Gremlin, you might have improved your ride but it doesn't mean you're going anywhere.
