Rather apt analogy, lantaur. Well done.

They can't have Counsell... That ugly batting stance is tied up by the Brewers again for at least the next 2 years. Chicken's a nice guy... I just hate watching him hit.

A OK, but I was listening to WFAN and watching YES at the time, so I was pretty sure it was good sources, since there were three. Sorry, and now I am sorry too because I probably have a lot of viruses from going to the damn Rotoworld site.

Naw, I don't feel that way at all. Adam fucking Eaton - mister, I've never thrown more than 125 IP in a season - just got paid $8 million a year. Randy Wolf just got paid $8 million a year. Sure, this new guy for the Yankees cost a little bit more, but as a Yankees fan I'd rather pay him than Ted Lilly.
Who cares if Ted Lilly can beat the Red Sox twice a year and then suck against everyone else, it doesn't mean he deserves a 4 year, $44 million contract. Also, why weren't you hating on the Red Sox for their deal with D-Mats Spnited? Is it because you are a Mets fan and you don't have anything to root for now that they are getting shut out of the free agent and trade market?

His having put together a 10+ year career is a miracle.

    I have his rookie card.

  8. Let me go on record as saying I don't believe the talk about JD Drew signing with the Sox. When Theo came back to be the GM - one of his big conditions was putting an end to leaks from the front office. All of a sudden there are stories leaked that the Red Sox are ready to sign Drew? Doesn't add up. What I think is happening is that the Red Sox are allowing Boras to spin the Red Sox as a suitor so that Boras can up the ante with teams like the Giants or Dodgers ("Hey boys - you better act quick because the deep pocket Red Sox are ready to sign him - did you see the piece in SI - but my client really wants to stay on the West Coast but you better act quick.") Maybe the Drew rumor is in exchange for a discount on Matsuzaka?

My first thought was to ask you if you had any theories about black helicopters you'd like to share, but now that I think about it, I wouldn't put anything past Boras.

In today's maket the Yankees seem to have made a good move with this. & I will be stunned if Zito is not a Met next year. Between the difference in the pricetag, the fact that they lost to the Cards in game 7 (& could have beaten Detroit) & the Alou signing signalling a souring of sorts re Millege, they have to be kicking themselves for not getting Zito at the deadline.

Zito was not available at the deadline... can we please stop revising history!
Zito was talked about. Beane decided he was not trading him. End of talks.

And he would still be just as expensive for the Mets or anybody else right now. No way he would have signed before declaring free agency. The agents knew just how ridiculous the market was going to be this offseason.
