How much of a clutch hitter is Ramirez? Not having watched a lot of Cubs' games I don't really know.

I'm not sure he's so much clutch or not clutch. He hits everything when he's hot and sucks no matter what the situation when he is not.

He did get ripped quite a bit for sucking right after Derrek Lee got hurt this year, though I think part of that was just his usual crappy start. He is a player I'd rather have in a complimentary role than trying to be his team's star.

I've heard rumors that the Tigers might have some interest in Ramirez, but being that he's right handed and they already have a similar player at third who has better range, I'm thinking nothing will come of that rumor.

Who would draw more interest as far as trades - Jeremy Bonderman or Nate Robertson? It's pretty clear that the Tigers need another big bat in the middle of their lineup and the only thing they've got to offer is a starter. Would Texas laugh at Bonderman for Texeria straight up?

I lit an outdoor fire today. A little windy, but it still burned nicely.

    Aramis Ramirez - .291, 38 HR, 119 RBI, .352 OBP, .561 SLG
    Brandon Inge - .253, 27 HR, 83 RBI, .313 OBP, .463 SLG

Ramirez is also a year younger and has a much better offensive track record before 2006. Inge had never even hit 20 homers in a season before. Ramirez has hit 30 more more four times now.

They are not even close to being similar players.

They should laugh at it, but you never know with the Rangers. Bonderman's not that great even in a pitcher's park.

Because he's been playing for the Cubs, no one has ever seen him in a clutch situation.

.250, 4 HR, 10 RBI, .365 OBP in 44 career post-season at-bats (all with the Cubs in 2003). Not awful.

Like I said, I haven't watched many Cubs games and haven't looked at many Cubs players stats. I didn't realize Ramirez had that many HRs.

Also, Inge has only had really two full seasons as an everyday starter and one of those years, he was learning a new position (third base). That said, third base likely isn't a huge priority for the Tigers, especially since Inge is hugely popular with the fans.

As far as Robertson/Bonderman, I doubt Texas would go straight up for Texeira. Bonderman probably has more potential. I believe he's lowered his ERA every season he's been in the majors. Bonderman is only 23 as well.

You are correct about Bonderman, Scorpio. If Bonderman ever developes a consistent off-speed pitch, he'll win 16-20 games every year for a long time.
