If anything, I don't think it dispels that at all. Do you think any team this year without a Top 10 player has a chance at the championship? I would count that group as the Heat, Magic, Bulls, Clippers, Lakers, Mavericks (if Dirk plays to full potentials) and Oklahoma City. As someone else pointed out, you probably have to go back to the 2000s or Thomas-led Pistons to get to a team that won a championship without a Top 10 player.

This point has been raised and answered several times.

My point is not that you don't need a superstar to win. You do. It's a necessary, but not sufficient, component of a winning NBA team. And multiple superstars can yield startlingly diminishing returns. Those are my points.

If I ever need a man to cut a cake into 15 equal portions, I know who to call.

Just saw a tweet from Sheridan that the Knicks have announced Lin's done for the regular season with a torn meniscus.

First Rubio, now Lin, two exciting guys out.

The NBA players are falling apart. By the playoffs the league will be filled with
D Leaguers. The schedule is the revenge of David Stern.

Jeremy Lin's injury means the Knicks will have to use a D-Leaguer? I thought Jeremy Lin's health meant the Knicks had to use a D-Leaguer.

I couldn't find the NBA thread so I'm posting here instead. Carmelo was unbelievable at the end of the game against the Bulls. He showed why there are still some people who think he can be "the guy".

That was a helluva performance. Took the team on his back and performed.

That was some good entertainment. Melo being Melo. Shumpert did a nice job defending Rose, too.

Yes - very entertaining. Shumpert was a nice pick at 17.
Donnie Walsh parting gift to The Knicks.
Those 4 free throws that The Bulls missed at end of regulation were the difference.
