Struck me as just a cheap shot, a way to drag Lisa's name through the mud once again.

A private plane for Loopy and his kids? Were the brats inside the press box or were they in the 26-below wind-chill factor stands?
And if they were inside the press box, then a big-time NFL credentialing rule got broken.

But it's Lupica. The rules don't apply to him.

    Yes.

So does SportsJournalists.com ... as only it can.

Some of you must have been little bitches in the schoolyard.

    Or, as Mel would say:

"It's good to be the King."

. . . and that "little bitch" line is hanging out there, like a hanging curveball, just waiting to be slammed 600+ feet.

Jeez, it'd feel just like the Summer of '98!

I took Shot's post as a swipe at those who seem eager to pile on despite an absence of facts. I'd like to see better sources than TBL and Keith Kelly before accepting any of this as gospel -- I mean, if you can find even one instance of Kelly portraying the Daily News in a positive way, you win a kewpie doll. Especially after Sherry's post essentially shot down something that some people seemed eager to accept as fact, I'm not believing any of it until Lisa weighs in herself. I think Shot's schoolyard analogy is on the money.

We want to hear more, of course.

Kelly's going to embellish the basic tale . . . we know that.

But TBL's basic scenario rings eerily true, on the surface.

Thank you so much to everyone who has said such kind things about me on this board. Your words mean more than you will ever know.
Yes, I have resigned from the NY Daily News after 10 mostly great and always interesting years. My departure is amicable. My only regrets: saying goodbye to my colleagues, because even though we operated under extreme and crazy conditions, I've always said I work with the best beat writers and reporters, and can honestly say I don't just respect them, I LIKE them; and newspapers, because they'll always be my great love. The copy desk often made me look better than I deserved.
Leon Carter has always treated me fairly, and it is unfair to suggest my decision has anything to do with gender issues.

Sounds like you have a non-paper media deal in hand . . . either way, best of luck, going forward.
