    Superb.

I'm going to be laughing all the way home with this one in mind.

    He's used it before.

    Makes it no less lovely.

Well, in this case, I hope TBL is correct or reasonably close to correct.
"... the lilliputian loudmouth has amassed a Taliban-like body count ..." Nice turn of phrase, that.
Makes Lisa look like a victim (again) and Lupica look like the little Napoleon Fuck that he is.
    Take that, Don Skwar.

Every male here who works on a high-profile beat is aware of all the hateful e-mail and other feedback that's thrown around by the fans of this world (feedback that makes me ashamed to be a human sometimes).

Multiply that hatred by about 1,000,000 for female columnists. The male chauvinism when it comes to sports is absurd, and females (like Lisa, I imagine) get it constantly. It's sickening. The females here (I'm not one) can chime in, but the females I've worked with have been so mistreated by the public that it's sad.

I've only run in to Lisa one or two times in my career, but she's super nice and I wish her the best.

Someone wrote on this thread that she'd be a great fit at The Times and I agree.

I registered with this site today just to address some of these ridiculous rumors. I left the NY Daily News in the fall because of a terrific job offer I received from the New Jersey Devils. Never, at any time in my 12 years of working with Leon Carter (while he was an assistant SE and as the SE), did I feel discriminated against or treated any differently due to gender issues. To imply this on my behalf without speaking to me is unconscionable and an attack on Mr. Carter's character and integrity.

Not that it is anyone's business, but I was not looking to leave the News at the time I was approached by the Devils. one of the factors in leaving was the fact that hockey coverage had been shrinking at the News (as at most US newspapers). I left there on good terms. I was never treated with anything less than professionalism.

I do not know the reason why Lisa left. I enjoyed working with her and respect her as a columnist. For people whose jobs are grounded in fact and truth, it is distressing to see this topic dealt with such slurs and rumors.

If that's the only post you ever make here, Sherry, it was a pretty damned good one.

Thanks for the info, and for an outstanding username. Anyhoo, as good as Lisa is as a columnist, she'd be great as a feature writer. Her BASW on the groupies was an awesome read.

I'd like to apologize to Sherry and Lisa for repeating rumors I've heard about their former place of employment.

    I suck. That is all.

But it's not solid, damn solid until TP says it is.
