Literary agent's bio says Obama was born in Kenya

Maybe you can be worried.

 

"Hey boss, I'm working on the bio for this Obama guy. Did he ever say where he was born?"

"Wasn't it on the sheet that he sent back?"

"No, I guess I'll just put Kenya and then change it later if I'm wrong."

I have no dog in this fight, because both Ragu and JR pretty much despise me, but I thought Ragu's post, and particularly the offending sentence, was crystal clear. I think JR has gone after me before for not being coherent, too, with what seemed to be a completely lucid sentence making a very straight-forward point, so maybe it's him?

P.S. It might have been Double J. Can't keep you two straight. If so, my apologies. Not really.

 

Great work, Ragu.

 

First, I find it funny that a guy who makes twice as many posts per day than I do thinks that I "log on to respond to Ragu." But if that's what the professor wants to believe, then I'm happy I can inflate his ego.

Secondly, I find it funny that his supporters have to try and "explain" to me what he wrote, more or less walk back his comment, despite his well-documented ability to speak at length for himself.

Thirdly, I find it funny that the phrase "I have no idea for sure if he ever overtly claimed it," is being completely ignored in this walk-back. That is verbatim the comment of any run-of-the-mill birther. Until you can offer proof that he ever DID claim it, then I'll assume you can also offer no proof that you didn't murder an intern.

Fourthly, I find it funny that my criticism of Ragu as an immoderate moderator was ignored by all but Point of Order, of all people, so clearly there was an eclipse going on when I wrote it.

Fifthly, I find it funny that the immoderate moderator responded to criticism of him with a sophomorish attack on myself and others, although it was more clever than we're used to from the professor, so hat tip for that.

Sixthly, I find it funny that there's nothing but crickets from said immoderate moderator when I questioned his lack of an ignore button (hell, even Moddy has one!).

Seventhly, I have no clue if I've butchered the whole secondly, thirdly, fourthly thing so to the copy editors among us, I apologize. I hope you can laugh about all this like I am.

 

The post or despising me?

 

Ragu is not a birther. He's a bio-ther. Same family tree, but quite different.

 

So is, "Honey, what do you want to do about dinner?"

 

I can't decided if TigerVols is either insanely committed to his worldview (note the classic confirmation bias where he looks for an emotional trigger that lets him dismiss people who disagree with him) or quite insecure about it and overcompensating.
