    Another pre-finale interview:

    The best part:

"What's the story with Aaron?" And we go, okay, the story with Aaron is that a psychic told Claire that he was special, but then subsequently, in an Eko episode, we revealed that the psychic was a fraud. So people are like, "Why is Aaron special?" and we're like, "But, that wasn't true. That guy was a liar." "Well, why did The Others abduct him?" Well, the Others revealed that they abducted him because he was a baby born on the island, and they wanted to see if there was anything they could glean scientifically to solve their fertility issues.

And so there it is in the show, in black and white, but people still say, "So why is Aaron special?!" or, "What are you going to reveal about him?" Aaron became emotionally special, because Kate ended up having to raise him and she ended up returning to the island to bring Claire back home. So that's why he's special. But if you're looking for the answer to, "What are his superpowers?" or "When will he finally deploy his laser eyes?", the answer is… the finale. He deploys his laser eyes in the finale."

That's funny stuff, Piotr. But true. The best part of this show is that it explains answers and mysteries over time and in intervals. Then you have to put it together. That's how this show rolls. I'm still baffled that people haven't figured that out to this point. Sorry, I'm not calling anyone out.

Anyway, it was great to watch the pilot tonight. Apparently, this was the first time they've had enhanced on this episode and it was obvious from the get go. It talked about the heart of the Island in the first minute.

Seeing the evolution of the show from pilot the precipise of the finale is just awesome. There is so much that makes sense now that we were completely mystified by after watching that pilot.

Jack had way cooler hair back then, too. (no homo).

It's only been six years, but you can see the aging in a few characters. Gray on Jack. Crowsfeet on Sawyer. Kate's face was softer. Hurley looks about the same. So does Sayid. Locke, too.

Oh, and I'm avoiding the LOST internet tomorrow. Apparently, the episode will be posted online by Dark UFO, so you know it'll be all over the place. I've already stumbled across two spoilers and I'm pissed. It was unintentional but that's what I get for checking out fan sites. Ugh.

Damon tweeted tonight to avoid spoilers at all costs because they're all over the place.

Funny, because I've been getting annoyed at how there have barely been any spoilers so far. DarkUFO said he has a bunch that he's saving for tomorrow to keep people from spreading them to non-spoiler sites too fast :(

  7. Why do you want to read spoilers? Just let it unfold, this is the final episode in a great eight year run.

  8. I feel your pain. I have to work until about 2 am as well tomorrow (although I am off on Monday, so not as bad). I'm just worried about something between the end of the show and when I get home, it's eating me alive. I almost burned a vacation day for it.

My theory on what is getting ready to happen in the finale:

Desmond ends up being the key player in everything. Everything he is doing now in the sideways world leads me to believe he is rounding up the gang so that he can re-create a similar journey back to the island the way he needs it to be so that he and Penny can be reunited.

Much like Jack had to do--"We've got to go back Kate--

Jack being the protector of the light is a smokescreen. It was too easy for him to volunteer for that role. He can't protect it from Smocke/MIB, and the island sinks into the ocean (hence the underwater images in the season opener)

And I have no idea why I just woke up to come and type this.

    Damn you Lost.

Rick does not like the actual show. He just likes knowing everything ahead of time. :)

I'm not even going online tomorrow. Blackout.

My current theory is everyone gathers at the concert, Jack's son starts playing "Make your own kind of music", everyone has a wake-up realization moment and they have to fight MIB off-island.

Oh, and the ultimate end game? Everyone but Jack dies on the island. Jack then goes into the light and is given the choice. Do his job and protect the island, but everyone he loves and cares for is dead, or go to the sideways world where everyone lives.

He chooses to protect the island, a choice no one has made before, and that ultimately proves MIB wrong because his theory is people will choose what makes them feel better, not the more selfless act.

Oh, man, I was laying in bed and just had this realization.

What if everything I said above was true ... except it was Desmond who had to make the choice instead of Jack?

Think about it. He's immune to the properties of the island, he can shift from one timeline to the next ...

A bunch of us have said it seems odd that Jack can "choose" to take over protecting the island. What if he's not the one that's meant to be the new Jacob? What if Desmond is?

I say this because I envisioned all the castaways dying on the island and Desmond going into the lightsource. He then can see both worlds, the on-island world where he must protect the island at all costs and the off-island world where the castaways lived and everything is right.

Here's the kicker. The one thing he cares about the most (Penny) he can't have in the sideways world. Why? Because she's married to JACK!! (Cue dramatic music).

Forgive me if this is just a 5 a.m. rambling of a guy who needs sleep but if this comes true, I will be excited that I hit it on the head, but will be sad we're missing out on the only real romance of this series.
