But the Others also have someone above them, too; someone all-powerful-seeming in whom they believe fervently. Remember when Juliet found out her sister's cancer came back and Ben mentioned someone who would cure it (the name escapes me), and surely Juliet believed in HIM. Could be the Dharma dude, or one of his descendants.
I don't know that we're certain the Others and Dharma aren't connected. All we have is eye patch guy's word on it. But, yes, it does appear Ben is taking things in a different direction than Dharma intended.

 

Jacob is the name of the grand poobah of "the Others".

 

Who was that woman that appeared to be high up in the others' hierarchy when Sawyer, Jack and Kate were caged? Was she the one running the trial? I can't quite recall.

What happened to her? Does she fit in somewhere? Is she above Ben?
