You mean the black woman? As I recall, she seemed to be in charge of Walt, too...We haven't seen her since Season Two, as far as I can remember.

  2. Not Miss Keough. There was a white chick running that trial/tribunal thing when Juliet was under scrutiny.

Yeah, she was the one from earlier this season of Prison Break, under whose garage the money was.

She was the one who translated Jack's tattoo.

Kate......by a mile. Juliet is attractive, but too lanky.

    here's my order of the hotties;
    Kate
    Sun
    Claire
    French Woman's daughter
    Girl buried alive
    Jacks wife
    Juliet

    OK.

The island was discovered by Dharma and it is sometype of Lazarus Pool where people are healed. One thing they did notice was that when you left the island you became sick again and if you stayed, the women were infertile.

Dharma was then taken over by this current company (for profit) that Ben works for. They are trying to find out just why these things take place on the island. It just so happens that the plane crashed and Desmond showed up. I think they were brought by the creature who is another party in this tale.

Desmond's gf (who was looking for him and knew what to look for) I think also realizes that this is where Desmond wound up, and her father sees the potential profit in what is happening.

All of these forces are colliding.

Other trends I see that could have been mentioned in the past 18 pages (sorry I did not read them all):

    1. The plane crash survivors are all bad people (giving up a baby, killers, thieves, drug addicts, drug dealers) and they are all trying to overcome or repay what they have done in the past. This is why "the Others" are not taking them. They have a Utopian society... or so they think.

    2. I have no idea how Hurley's numbers have translated over.

    3. Locke was a good person when he hitthe island, but he is being corrupted. He is the only person who is a morally worse person now then when he came to the island. I think this is very important.

    4. The couple they featured a few weeks ago were still bad people. Greed took them in, and they died. I think Sawyer throwing the diamonds back may save his life down the road. I think it is worth mentioning that it was Hugo that started his change. I think Hugo and Locke are the cornerstones of this story.

How is Jack a bad person? What am I forgetting? Or have we just not seen it yet?

"bad person" might be a bit strong for some, but they've all made mistakes/sins that they're atoning for on the island. That seems to make sense. Some (Shannon, Boone, Eko) have even died shortly after finding some sense of grace. And they get off the island that way. In Jack's case, it's pride and his relationship with his father. Not necessarily a "bad person" on the scale of, say, Sawyer, but still in need of redemption.

Interesting point about Locke being the only person who became "worse" on the island. That's a fairly new development, though I guess you could see the seeds last year. I'd also note he's also the only one who has tangibly benefitted from the island's powers. But maybe those powers corrupt. And why would the Others take him now? To save him? Or to use him?

The Others are users. Locke is no different.

That episode last night was just so predictable. Juliet was a plant all the way. I like the flashbacks to show how she's ingrained and how we get insight into the island. But how does it seems so acceptable to let her in after what Ethan, Ben and the Others did to them?

Don't forget how carefully the Others set up her relationship with Jack. She always brought him grilled sandwiches. No one else cooked them. She openly disagreed with Ben in front of Jack. No one else questions his authority. She tried to convince Jack to kill Ben, knowing full well he could never do it.

From the minute she was introduced to him, she has been working to gain his trust. No one else trusts her, but they do trust Jack and they listen to him. Then she "saves" Claire and, presto, she's in like Flint.

he's not. and neither is hurley. those two have had a rough time in life - hurley because of his mental illness, jack because of his dad and being a workaholic which caused a failing marriage.

sawyer and kate, however, are bad people. in addition to their personal demons, they are murderers who committed crimes that would result in the death penalty.

there's a huge distinction to be made here. that's why i think it's either wrong or too simplistic to say that the island is about redemption.

Anyone think Juliet is double-crossing Ben by making him think she is double-crossing the Others? I trust her. Dunno why.
