Jack, Claire, Hurley and Locke really were good people. If you remember, Locke was in with those pot-growers more for a sense of family than to make money.

Did they make mistakes? Yeah, Jack couldn't forgive his father and didn't pay attention to his marriage. Hurley allowed his best friend to quit his job and burn a bridge with no backup plan. Claire was young and had some lapses in judgment.

But comparing them to what Sawyer, Eko, Kate, Nikki (sp?), Paulo, Sayid, Jin, Sun or Ana-Lucia have done (or continue to do) is a bit of a stretch.

One interesting thing about Sawyer is he actually does have a moral sense to him and generally he ends up either feeling great remorse for what he's done or doing the right thing in the end (giving the money he earned in the prison to his daughter, giving up supplies when they are truly needed). That certainly doesn't excuse his behavior most of the time, but it shows that he is complex and not a one-dimensional "bad guy."

That's 9 out of 13 in the bad column. Do you see a trend at least? We have many more flashbacks to come. Oh, Claire was going to give her baby up. I think that counts as a little bit bad.

Giving up a child doesn't make you bad. Maybe it's not about bad or good. Maybe it's about needing healing of some sort?

Claire was going to give the baby up, yes, but can't that be seen as good, too?

Maybe she was thinking about the baby. As a single mother, maybe she couldn't care for the child, and she wanted a family that could.

As the brother of a couple of adopted siblings, sometimes giving up the child can be much better for them.

  8. The hottest gal on that show was Shannon. Absolutely stunning in every way.
