It was the same woman from Desmond's earlier flashback.

I wonder if Sayid will be able to get that sat phone working by the season finale?

Upon multiple TiVO reviews with my two LOST viewing buddies (thanks to one of them for his keen eye), the woman in the photo was the same woman from the jewelry store. Granted, both were PhotoShopped in horribly ... Don't know what that means, but it was at least an Easter Egg, if nothing else.

    Also, SPOILER ALERT ...

One episode this season will revolve around Benjamin Linus (still love his last name), though I'm almost certain it will not be the season finale. The two-hour finale, I have heard, will revolve around Jack, which should please loyal viewers only because it might well mean a true return to the show's origins.

    So, what was the Catch-22?

Obviously, they wouldn't have been clearer that the Isaac/Abraham story was parallel to that of Desmond. So, was it that Desmond needed to be prepared to sacrifice Charlie in order to see Penelope again, but that if he let Charlie die, he wouldn't be a good person and somehow wouldn't be let off of the island again?

The pilot had a foreign edition of "Catch 22"...that's when I realized that Penny wasn't on the helicopter or whatever. Did anyone notice what language the book was written in?

    Oh, and future flashbacks ---
next week -- Jin & Sun
two weeks -- Locke (supposed to be recent flashbacks, like stuff that happened to him before he saw his dad)
    three weeks -- Ben
    four weeks -- Charlie
Two hour season finale -- Jack

I thought the two-hour finale was about Ben and his life on the island.

Taken from a MB somewhere, so believe at your own risk:

Portugese, which ties in with the people who were hunting for Desmond in last year's finale.

    /I don't know Portugese
//I can't remember if the folks from last year's finale were Portugese

Yeah, we haven't had enough Jack flashbacks.

Gotta get back to those "origins" to make the old-time viewers feel comfortable. This season has been horrible with all the new characters and new information

I got the list from Ain't Cool News.com. Course, these are the same guys who said during the last season of "The Sopranos", there would be a brutal male-on-male rape scene involving Vito and Finn. So take the list with a little grain of salt.

They were speaking Portugese last year in the finale.

Aint it cool has revised the list a couple of times.
They are now saying what they thought was the DeGroots episode is now a Ben episode and that the finale, that they thought was Ben, is now Jack.
The DeGroots are the couple who founded Dharma. So the CW says Ben is involved, maybe explains how they died or if the skeletal couple found in one of the caves was actually them.
The Locke episode has thrown them off, while it is a flashbacks episode, they say now that it is actually flashbacks of things that happened on the island.
And Ardil is Portugese for Catch.

Do you mean the people with Desmond's girl?

You know, if the girl who fell from the sky is Portuguese, is there a chance that and the book relate to the location of the island?

Well, Penny clearly had some idea about the Island based on last year's finale. Also, Desmond said that Penny had tracked him down once before and thatshe said that with enough money she could find anyone.

Maybe labor in Lisbon or Rio is cheaper? Will those speaking the language have any tie to Nikki and Paolo?
