    Nobody watched tonight?

Anyone else think Miss Parachute is an Other? One-Eyed Willie showed up awfully quick & was pretty surprised to see visitors. Also, I'm pretty sure she didn't say "Thanks" after he healed her.

What is up with Flight 815?
They found the plane and everyone was dead?

Here comes the purgatory talk again.

Although, if she's another, her planting that in their heads could be part of Ben's master plan.

The Purgatory talk will rise again, however briefly, because of the new revelation that children conceived on the island are not brought to term.

Consider (after a brief chat with a Catholic coworker) that Purgatory is a place for those who have neither paid for nor recognized their sin. They must have sinned to have reached Purgatory. Babies are without sin and, in turn, cannot be in Purgatory. If the island is Purgatory, the babies cannot be born. There.

That said, I still don't think the island is Purgatory.

I've taken this position with Lost:

I'm not trying to figure out anything. To hell with it. I'm just tired of trying. I stop caring the second that little "Lost" logo hits the screen.

And I'll tell ya, after taking that approach right after the start of this season, I think I've enjoyed the show a good bit more. The shows are interesting, the acting is good, the dialogue is OK and it moves along at a decent pace. To hell with the mystery. I'm just watching it like it's any other show.

That's how I've watched it since the beginning.

Always wondered why anyone would try to solve the mysteries. Better to see them play out on screen, and just go along for the ride.

Yeah, if you try to figure out all the mysteries before the writers are ready to reveal the answers you're gonna drive yourself nuts cuz nothing you guess is going to be right. I've taken the same approach that dog428 has and it's made "Lost" a lot more enjoyable.
The last few weeks have been outstanding and I have a feeling the final two episodes of the season are gonna boost this show back among the top 2 or 3 shows on TV.

I watch the show without trying to solve the mysteries simply because they've rendered that impossible. It's human nature for viewers to seek answers to these mysteries, and the show stole that away when it went down 50 different paths that seemingly can't be connected.

The show's ultimate success will be measured by whether it convincingly ties that paths together. I have my doubts. I expect each mystery to be explained independent of many others, and I expect a great many mysteries to remain unresolved. But I'll be the first to cheer if they pull a nice ending.

Of course, the reality is that the ride has been worth it all, even if the ending blows. After all, it's entertainment, not welfare reform. It's the means, not the end, that causes me to sit down and watch it every Thursday evening.

HM, you might enjoy it more if you watched it on Wednesday... sorry, could not resist.

I still think the island is a form of a Lazarus Pit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_pit that Dharma found. Dharma was then overtaken by the current group on the island.

Desmond's rich gf and her father are also looking for this island as well... for profit.

The flight crashed there, but the story was covered up by the major corporations looking for the island. If people looked for the flight, they may stumble across the island.

The Lazarus Pit theory was strengthened by the Russian coming back to life and being so confident that the woman would not die.

I also believe that the good vs evil theme and redemption also has an undertone and is what feeds the "monster."

I am among those who proposed the purgatory twist. But that's been debunked at least a few times by the producers.

The only problem being that some people have died on the island and stayed dead.

But how did they die? Were they injured beyond a certain point? Gunshots, cruched to death?
