A lot of people believe characters don't die until their issues are resolved, hence the purgatory talk. But maybe the island heals psychologically before it inflicts physical damage.

Babies CAN be born on the island. Think Claire. They just, apparently, can't be conceived AND born on the island.

I've lately become interested in why each character seems to have an issue with their respective fathers.

Though I'm not sure what any of it means ...

Why can't Sun just get an abortion?

FWIW, fun with translation from a Lost MB:

"Me estoy muriendo" is Spanish for "I am dying" (from the captions).
"Aiutami sto morendo" is Italian for "Help me I'm dying" (from the captions; partially incorrect, but comprehensible).
She mutters in an "asian language" (from the captions) which Jin claims is Chinese, not Korean.
After Mikhail and Desmond treat Naomi's wound, she says something in Portuguese not spelled out in the captions. It is not "Thank you" as Mikhail claims. Instead, it sounds like "Eu não estou só" which is Portuguese (spoken with a Brazilian accent) for "I am not alone." The "Ardil-22" book is also Portuguese.

Message to Sun: Jack is the only doctor on the island and you are preggers. If he wants to ask you questions, you answer. If he wants to examine you, you ask Sawyers if he has any stirrups.

I am a fan of the purgatory idea, mainly because I've been saying it since the first season and I love to be right.

If there is some sort of judgment of people, I think there might be a distinction to be made between what happened to Michael and Walt and what happened to the jewel thieves, the siblings and others.

Are we to assume that Michael and Walt made it out? Because that assures us of something that hasn't been all that clear in recent weeks, which is that there is, in fact, a way out.

I'm trying to picture the scene if these people make it out. It would be a huge media circus, of course. But a lot of these people are loners who wouldn't attract many friends and family. Even Jin and Sun are trying to flee from those they know.

Whatever the answers, the writers are doing a fantastic job of making the 60 mins go by fast and providing exciting but believable answers. (Flight 815 was found but no survivors? How does that happen?)

Sun is one tough cookie; wifey loves her feistiness. Was she spying on Juliette when Juliette went back into the bunker? Hope so, that would put a nice twist.

Juliette is doing some nice acting; the way she looks so peaceful and concerned all the while she's spying on the survivors; beautiful.

Oh, BTW, Kate is about to get knocked up by Sawyer, as well. Juliet said that into her tape recorder at the end fo the show. Right before, "I hate you."

So again - why doesn't Sun just have the baby aborted? Even the most fierce pro-lifer in the world would have to be in favor of the procedure to save the mother's life. Right? Yawn? Hondo?

Finally got around to watching this. Very good episode. One question:
Are we to make anything of the fact that having sex on the island appears to be a death sentence (just for the women, of course). Very high sperm count + guaranteed death in pregnancy = quite the consequences for a little nookie in the tent.

yeah, that was silly. when sun asked "why so many questions, jack" it would've been reasonable for him to reply 'because i'm a doctor and i know you don't like me much but if the plane hadn't crashed you'd be getting prenatal care so i just want to make sure everything is OK.'
