I think you need to think for a second. Sports Journalism is the backbone to many publications. No, it won't kill all of journalism, we both know that, but if other organiztions do what the NCAA do, it damn sure will kill sports journalism as we know it today.
There's nothing dumb about that. Look around you. Check out Poynter.org or EditorsandPublishers.com and read what's going on in the industry.

You didn't specify "sports journalism." You said "Journalism."

I just want to offer my support to Brian and the C-J. As a fellow NCAA blogger (though my beat has given me precious little reason to be singled out by the NCAA), my support is behind you in this fight.

I don't think I need to specify anything. I know exactly what I wrote. If you don't think it wouldn't have an affect, you are mistaken.

No kidding. Us poor bastards in Oregon have to wait for the outcome of other games to know when ESPN will let the Beavers take the field against Michigan.

    boots,

The NBA, NFL, MLB and NASCAR all have their own seemingly succesful websites with that employ reporters and carry live results and news and more. Why do you think they aren't elbowing out the rest of the media?

Why would the NCAA, which does an absolutely terrible job on its own website in keeping up with live events, be the one to pull this move?
